About the Tour
Thassos is one of the most beautiful islands in the Aegean Sea—a place where the mountains descend directly to the sea, and green forests and olive-covered hills create a sense of tranquility and openness.
This expedition-style cycling tour is designed for those who want to experience the island in an active and authentic way—away from the tourist crowds.
We will ride along coastal roads with sea views, climb into the Ipsario mountain massif, and pass through forests, panoramic ridgelines, and quiet mountain areas and villages.
This is not just a ride—it’s a small expedition where every kilometer reveals a new view, a new feeling, and a new story.
Itinerary
Arrival in Keramoti, ferry transfer to Thassos Island, and cycling route: Thassos Port – Skala Potamias. Route distance: 16 km, elevation gain: 260 m.
We meet in Keramoti (Greece), where at 14:00 we board the ferry to Thassos Island.
After arriving at Thassos Port around 15:00, our first ride begins. The route follows the beautiful northeastern coastline of the island. We will ride along quiet and smooth gravel roads with views of the Aegean Sea. Our final destination for the day is Skala Potamias.
Check-in at the hotel follows.
Before dinner, we will have free time for a walk to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the seaside town.
Dinner at a traditional Greek taverna.
Skala Potamias – Panagia Village – Ipsario Mountain – Prinos. Route distance: 37 km, elevation gain: 1,100 m.
This day is the most impressive stage of the expedition.
At the beginning, we reach the charming village of Panagia and the so-called Spring of the Virgin Mary, where we will have time for a break and photos. We then enter the Ipsario mountain massif—the highest part of Thassos Island.
Riding along forest roads, the route passes through panoramic mountain sections rich in diverse flora and fauna.
From the higher parts of the mountain, stunning views open up over the Aegean Sea and the entire island.
After a scenic descent, we reach the western coast of Thassos and the town of Prinos, where we will stay overnight.
Prinos – Agios Georgios Village – Thassos Port. Route distance: 18 km, elevation gain: 480 m.
The final day of our adventure follows a beautiful panoramic route in the northern part of Ipsario, after which we descend to Thassos Port. From there, we board the ferry and return to Keramoti.
